Inspiration Board: Beach Wedding

For those of you who don't know, an inspiration board is where you take images from many different weddings or events and put them together and it looks like it all came from the same event. This is a beach inspiration board I made.

Garden Roses vs. Peonies

Since Peonies are really unpredictable, we can never definitely say that we can offer you peonies. No florist can, and if they do you better be wary of that company. We do our best to find them for you, but they are expensive and the weather directly affects the crop of flowers. If we can't get peonies, we use a substitute flower called a Garden Roses. For all intensive purposes, they look almost identical to peonies and they are more reasonably priced. Take a look:

Of course you can get them in any color you want. The Garden Roses can be just as big as the Peonies and they are absolutely gorgeous. Getting garden roses can some times save you up to $1-3 dollars a stem. That is significant if you need 100+ stems of flowers!

Guest Favor

We have seen this recently at a few weddings we have done and we love the idea! We can actually make these for you! Just buy succulents and place them in a container and there you go, a wonderful guest favor! Succulents are very easy to take care of and they make a great take away.

Quick Tip

One quick tip that I can impart to you all to make your flowers last longer. Make sure there is no debris in the water like leaves or flower particles. That breeds bacteria which kills your flowers. Another tip is to cut your flowers every few days and place them in fresh water.

Cute Guest Book

Our St. Patrick's Bride, Katie, had the cutest guestbook! Guests put their fingerprint on a tree and wrote their name by their finger print. This makes a great keepsake and wall hanging in your house. Take a look:

Thanks to Chris Joriann Photography for the beautiful pictures:

Sugar Flowers vs. Real Flowers

One of the question we ask our initial consultation is would you like cake flowers. Most of the brides that choose us as their Wedding Florist decide to order cake flowers from us. We love when they do, because it saves them money. Typically, we not the cake bakers are the ones who place the real flowers on the cake, so you don't have to worry about an extra charge from the bakers.

Take a look at some of the cakes that we have decorated:

Just World Fundraiser

In January, I had the pleasure of working with Just World to provide their centerpieces for a fundraising event they held at a horse farm in Wellington. The pictures are taken by my personal camera, so forgive me for the quality. I just want to share with you these neat ideas we did. The theme of the party was Roaring 20's.

Organization

One thing I can for sure tell you is that organization is the key to having a flawless event. Organization starts at the smallest item too. We just reorganized our entire warehouse and we had bins and bins full of ribbons. It was a pain and an overall waste of time to dig through the bins to find the one ribbon we were looking for. So we used an idea we found on Pinterest and it is working out fabulously! If you have a stockpile of ribbon like we do, I suggest this. We have about 5 bins organized like this by color.

Website I Love

I know most of you have already heard about a website called "Pinterest". But in case you haven't, we just have to share it with you. This website allows you to create a "board" with pictures that you like for your wedding or event. I use it all the time when starting consultations for events. The client tells me their style or theme for their event, then I will do research for them and create a board full of images I think fits their description. It's a wonderful tool for you all to show your wedding/event vendors what your ideas are. It helps get a picture in our minds and that will help us to create an unforgettable event for you! You need an invitation to join Pinterest. If you need one, please leave a comment on this post with your email address and we will invite you.

Product I love

Another product that I use constantly is called Floralife's Leaf Shine. When leaves are looking dull in you flower arrangements, just spray a little leaf shine on them to make them look naturally clean and lush. This product does not leave the foliage oily at all! I use the spray on orchid leaves when I make an arrangement. Additionally, this product is great for homemade foliage arrangements. Go into your back yard and cut some of your green foliage - such as mini palm fronds, Monstera leaves, Crotons, Seagrapes, etc  and spray them with leaf shine then place them in a large vase with water and a little bleach and ta da! you have yourself a little tropical arrangement.

Vases

So question is - do you buy your own vases or rent them from the floral designer?

From a florist's opinion, please do not buy your own vases. You will pay less renting them from us then you will buying them. We also know what works better with the flowers you want. There is also another issue of giving the florist the vases as well as what to do with the vases after the reception has concluded. We always want what is easiest for you on your wedding or event day!

Fran and Remy's Wedding

We had the pleasure of providing the flowers for a previous client's sister's wedding! They had a beautiful garden themed wedding. The ceremony took place at a small church in Downtown Delray Beach. The reception was at Benvenutos.
