Happy Easter!

Source
Happy Easter! I hope you have a relaxing day with friends and family.

The origin of the White Easter Lily, properly known as the Bermuda Lily or lilium longiflorum, can be traced initially to Bermuda and subsequently to the Ryukyu Islands south of Japan. The flower was discovered in 1777 in Bermuda and then widely produced in England and Bermuda until 1898, after a virus destroyed the crops. According to Leonard Perry, a professor at the University of Vermont, growers then moved the plant to Japan.
Their entrance into the United States began with the action of a World War I soldier, Louis Houghton, who was enamored with the beauty of the snow white, pure lily and subsequently brought a suitcase full of hybrid lily bulbs to the west coast of the United States, in Oregon in 1919.
Houghton had numerous friends and neighbors involved with horticulture and he freely distributed the bulbs to them. Large scale production followed and today, the entire Pacific (west) coast of the United States from California to Oregon is known as the ‘Easter Lily Capitol of the World’.

Products I love: Crowning Glory

Another product that I use to help keep my flowers looking fresh is Crowning Glory. This product helps seal in moisture when sprayed on blooms and keeps them from blowing open too much. It's great to spray on bridal bouquets to keep them looking fresh! Just be aware to not spray it on unopened roses, because it may prevent the roses from opening.

Dinner Party

We had the privilege of working on a house dinner party in February in West Palm Beach. Our client Robin loved oranges and pinks, so we encompassed those colors along with her house decor into her party set in her backyard. Enjoy these photos:

The plates from Panache were made of banana! Eco friendly

We used rented tables and chairs from Regency Party Rental

The silverware, runner and napkins came from Atlas Party Rental.

We accented Robin's home decor with orchids and curly willow.

Dinner party for 40 with a collection of white vases.

Buffet table with red Ginger

Dining room table decor
We also put installed orchids in her palm trees!

Flower Care

A product that I use constantly while working with flowers is Floralife Quick Dip. This product works well with roses and hydrangeas, although you can use them with a variety of flowers. To use this product: give the flowers a cut, then dip in Quick Dip for 3 seconds and then put the flowers immediately in water. This product helps the flowers drink the water better. Additionally, if a flower has "died" it can be revived with Quick Dip. I have seen miracles with hydrangeas!
